Everst Ultimate Edition is a professional system information, diagnostics and benchmarking program for Win32 platforms. It extracts details of all components of the PC. It also tests the actual read and write speeds of your memory giving a fairly accurate look of true memory performance.
The Copy Test:

Results: Everest Ultimate 4.00 build 1023 showed minorr differences in every test, but there was no real significant difference observed. In the new 'COPY' test the faster the modules were run the better they performed. In the 'WRITE' test all the scores that were conducted using a front side bus of 333MHz were close to the same with the DDR3 1480MHz memory modules running a 370MHz FSB showing a nice gain in performance. This is an example of how a higher front side bus can benefit Intel processors in general.
Keep an eye on the DDR2 1066 kit and the DDR3 1066 kit as both of those kits are running the same frequency, divider and front side bus. Everest shows that DDR2 memory running at 1066Mhz with 4-4-4-12 timings is no better or worse than DDR3 running at the same speeds with 6-5-5-15 memory timings. This goes to show that even though DDR3 modules run at a higher CAS Latency that they will run equally with current DDR2 modules.
