Test 1: The Normal User
Profile 1: The Normal User (No Overclocking)
- CPU Multiplier: 7x
- CPU voltage: 1.2000V
- FSB Voltage: 1.20V
- FSB: 1066MHz
- Memory Voltage: 2.20V
- Final CPU Frequency: 1.86GHz

Results: The test results are drastically different from the last time, but we are using a new chipset and version of Core Temp Beta since our previous article. At default settings the coolers all performed close to the same, but the MACS Monsoon II Lite actually kept the processor cooler than the more expensive Corsair Nautilus 500 water cooler and the Thermaltake Big Typhoon VX, which was once considered one of the best air coolers for Intel Core 2 Duo processors.

Results: When it comes to power consumption the MACS Monsoon II Lite consumes more power than either of the other coolers as the TEC plate was running at both load and idle trying to keep the cooler nice and cool. The difference under load was observed to be roughly 70 Watts, which is considerable.
