Here are the numbers promised earlier. Please note that some of the machine settings were changed in order to remove as much CPU bottleneck as possible. Now you can see that the CPU is not slowing the video card down at 1600x1200. Tests were completed with X1800XT.

Test system
Opteron 148 at 3.0 GHz
Ballistix memory at 3-3-3-8 273 MHz running 1:1

For the tests I decided to include Half Life 2 and Serious Sam 2. The Source engine is one that everyone is familiar with and Counter Strike is still one of the most popular online games. It?s also a game that benefits tremendously from AA.

Half Life 2 Half Life 2 Half Life 2

AA scales very well in this game. High Quality Adaptive 4xAA at 1600x1200 runs comfortably and looks spectacular.
