Super Talent Express RC8 Performance
ATTO is one of the oldest drive benchmarks still being used today and is still very relevant in the SSD world. ATTO measures transfers across a specific volume length. It measures raw transfer rates for both reads and writes and places the data into graphs that can be very easily interpreted. The test was run with the default runs of 0.5kb through 8192kb transfer sizes with the total length being 256mb.
ATTO v2.41 - Normal Mode
ATTO v2.41 - Turbo Mode
Benchmark Results: Knowing that the SandForce controller yields the best results on this benchmark, we used it as the comparison between normal and turbo mode. Clearly, there is a huge difference in performance with the normal mode topping out at 161MB/s writes and 191MB/s reads. In turbo mode, we see the reads hitting 261MB/s and the writes at 209MB/s -albeit at smaller files sizes. This is a bit off of the max performance specifications but not by much. Still, it will flat out demoralize virtually any other thumb drive you can put up against it.
HD Tune v4.01
HD Tune Pro 4.01 is an extended version of HD Tune which includes many new features such as: write benchmark, secure erasing, AAM setting, folder usage view, disk monitor, command line parameters and file benchmark. It's a popular benchmark and perfect for testing thumb drives.
HD Tune v4.01 Reads:
HD Tune v4.01 Writes:
Benchmark Results: The max read and write scores here are a bit lower but we know that the ATTO benchmark gives the best case scenario where HD Tune Pro will give a little more insight into real world performance. It's still crazy fast.
HD Tune v4.01 File Benchmark:
Benchmark Results: The file copy benchmark shows reads right up near the 250MB/s mark with the writes topping out around 200MB/s. It's interesting how the reads pace better at the larger file sizes where the writes are stronger down low.
