Testing with AIDA64 and Sandra
Our first test was done with AIDA64, as it compares read, write, and copy speeds. Here you can see that at stock clocks our Samsung memory kit was reasonably close to the Corsair Vengeance kit we tested it against. This was surprising as our Vengeance kit had much better timings at stock settings. However, when it came to write speed, our Samsung kit completely outperformed the Corsair Vengeance modules.
When we loaded up our other benchmark, Sandra, we are able to see that there in terms of pure bandwidth in GB/second that our Samsung kit only came in three percent slower than our Corsair Vengeance kit which, again has much better timings at stock settings.
Our last test was again done in Sandra, but this time it was measuring the latency of our memory kits. Latency is the delay between when a command is given and when it’s executed. The lower your latency, the quicker your system receives a response and executes the command. In this test we can see that the tighter timings on the Corsair Vengeance kit gave it the advantage once again, this time it was 9.75% faster than our Samsung kit.
