Intel Z77 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Performance
Intel LGA1155 Motherboard SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Controller Chips:
- GIGABYTE Z77X-UD5H WiFi - Intel Z77
- GIGABYTE Z77X-UD3H - Intel Z77
- MSI Z77A-GD65 - Intel Z77
- ASUS P8Z68-V Pro - ASMedia ASM1042 USB 3.0 controller
CrystalDiskMark is a small benchmark utility for drives and enables rapid measurement of sequential and random read/write speeds. Note that CDM only supports Native Command Queuing (NCQ) with a queue depth of 32 (as noted) for the last listed benchmark score. This can skew some results in favor of controllers that also do not support NCQ.
The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 performance testing was done using a Corsair Force GT 240GB SSD.
Benchmark Results: The GIGABYTE Z77X-UD5H and the GIGABYTE Z77X-UD3H were spot on with our first Intel Z77 motherboard that we tested. The GIGABYTE Z77X-UD5H had a sequential read of 252.3MB/s and a sequential write of 252.1MB/s. The GIGABYTE Z77X-UD3H was slightly faster with a sequential read of 254.0MB/s and a sequential write of 257.3MB/s. The ASUS P8Z68-V Pro which uses the ASMedia ASM1042 USB 3.0 controller wasn't quite holding a candle to the Intel Controller and gave us a sequential read of 22.4MB/s and a sequential write of 230.7MB/s..
HD Tune Pro 4.01 is an extended version of HD Tune which includes many new features such as write benchmark, secure erasing, AAM setting, folder usage view, disk monitor, command line parameters and file benchmark.
