Ahead of the official start to CES 2012, Cobra Electronics has introduced the next generation of the Cobra Tag dubbed the G5. The Cobra Tag G5 is a bluetooth device that pairs up to your phone and will trigger an alarm when the two items become separated. The Cobra Tag G5 now takes advantage of the Bluetooth 4.0 Low-Energy standard. Usenergy standard the G5 will require charging approximately once every six months. The Cobra Tag G5 will work with the Bluetooth 4.0-capable iPhone 4S in addition to its usual list of Android devices. When asked about availability we were told to expect it at some point in Q2 with the same retail of the original Cobra Tag of $60.00
Haier was displaying several products at tonight's CES Unveiled gala, among the products that they were displaying was one of the TV's from their edge lit Core Series LED TV's. The edge lit Core Series TV's range in size from 22"-50 and are loaded with internet applications. Just below the TV is the SVEV-3D 40" 3D sound bar which uses proprietary processing to create a three dimensional sound effect. They also had on display the SBEV40-SLIM sound bar. This particular sound bar is only 1.1 inches deep and produces a 2.1 channel audio signal. Did I forget to mention that is also running wirelessly? Well, it is and it runs on the 2.4GHz bandwidth.
3M is also on hand at here at CES Unveiled, while here they were showing off their latest Multi-touch displays. The new 3M multi-touch displays range in size between 22 inches and 32 inches, though that's not the best part. Each of these displays can register more than 10 inputs from different sources, two hands and... toes i guess.
One display that we were definitely not expecting to see at CES Unveiled was LiftMaster Garage Door Openers. But here they are, and they are showing off an interesting piece of technology. They have a garage door opener that can be controlled by an app on your iPad. So if your wondering if you left your garage door open, you can check it no matter where in the world you are.
