Futuremark 3DMark11 Synthetic Gaming Benchmark
3DMark 11 is the latest version of the world’s most popular benchmark for measuring the 3D graphics performance of gaming PCs. 3DMark 11 uses a native DirectX 11 engine designed to make extensive use of all the new features in DirectX 11, including tessellation, compute shaders and multi-threading.
Since Futuremark is releasing 3DMark11 today we decided to run the benchmark at both performance and extreme presets to see how our hardware will run.

ASUS Rampage IV Extreme Intel X79 Motherboard 3DMark11 Performance Preset Benchmark Results
Benchmark results: The ASUS Rampage IV Extreme Intel X79 motherboard was able to outperform the GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD7 in both the Extreme preset and the Performance preset in Futuremark 3DMark 11. The Extreme Preset in 3DMark 11 gave the ASUS Rampage IV Extreme a 12 point lead with an overall score of 1660 3DMarks. The GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD7 was able to hit 1648 3DMarks. 12 points is only a difference of .72% between the two systems. The performance preset once again shows the ASUS Rampage IV Extreme coming out on top with a score of 5280 3DMarks, that's 29 3DMarks ahead of the GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD7 score of 5251. The difference between the two systems is only .55%.
