ASUS Rampage IV Extreme Intel X79 SATA III 6Gbps Performance
CrystalDiskMark is a small benchmark utility for drives and enables rapid measurement of sequential and random read/write speeds. Note that CDM only supports Native Command Queuing (NCQ) with a queue depth of 32 (as noted) for the last listed benchmark score. This can skew some results in favor of controllers that also do not support NCQ.
The SATA III 6Gbps Testing was done using a Corsair Force GT 240GB Solid State Drive.
Benchmark Results: The ASUS Rampage IV Extreme X79 motherboard was able to hit an average Sequential read of 508.6MB/s and a Sequential Write of 305.5MB/s. The Sequential Read of the ASUS Rampage IV Extreme is 8.7MB/s faster than the GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD7 while the Sequential Write is only .9MB/s faster. The 4K Reads of the ASUS Rampage IV Extreme and the GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD7 were only .22MB/s apart with the Rampage IV Extreme coming out on top with 33.88MB/s. The 4K Write speed of the ASUS Rampage IV Extreme was nearly 35MB/s faster than the GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD7.
