Conclusions on the Corsair Carbide 500R

Corsair seems to be dialed in to exactly what the market needs and while they do not have the range of cases of some of the manufacturers they have what most people want today. The Corsair Carbide 500R is loaded with most of the common features someone building a gaming rig would be looking for and the fashionable white adds a very nice touch.

We really liked working with the Corsair Carbide 500R as the design was very well thought out. The fit and finish were excellent with great paint work and the black and white theme is very attractive. Airflow is a non-issue in this case with more options than the majority of users would even consider or require. The cable routing was easy and the rubber grommets really add a polished look when you are done building in this case. The bonus integrated fan controller and LED on/off switch was a nice touch on the I/O panel but we really appreciated the inclusion of USB 3.0 ports on the front. Corsair was even thoughtful enough to include the conversion cable to USB 2.0 to extend the compatibility. Removable hard drive cages allow for super long video cards to make sure this case can last for several builds. Finally all the little sound dampening touches with rubber mounts a means this case will run quiet especially with the fans set to low.

While we would have liked a dust filter on the side port, there really wasn't anything bad about this case other than possibly the pricing. Depending on the deal and the day we were seeing the Corsair Graphite 600T coming in as close as $15.00 - $25.00 to the price of this case. The 600T is a bit nicer so it is interesting that they would have two case run that close in price. Visually they are different enough that it could be the reason to go with one over the other. Other than the price there really is not anything we could pick on given the price point of this case.

With a Two-year warranty and a price as shipped of $131.59 shipped this cases makes a great buy that should be on your short list which is why we are giving it a Legit Reviews Recommended Award.

Legit Bottom Line: Corsair does it again with sleek looks, tons of features, and in trendy white to boot. If you are looking for a sub $150.00 mid-tower this is a for sure buy. Just make sure you check the prices on that 600T before you hit the purchase button.
