MSI A75MA-G55 IGP DirectX 11 Performance

Firing up the DirectX 11 options in Total War: Shogun 2 we decided it was time to give the integrated graphics on our systems a bit of a workout with DirectX 11. Unfortunately one of our systems is not DirectX 11 capable when using the Integrated Graphics. While the ASUS P8Z68-V Pro Sandy Bridge system sits idly by, the AMD APU systems are hard at work cranking out some solid numbers in Total War: Shogun 2. At 1280x1024 the ASUS F1A75-M Pro took a slight lead with 92.85 frames per second compared to 92.43 frames per second, a difference of only ~.5%. Once we raised the bar with a resolution of 1920x1024 the MSI A75MA-G55 put its best foot forward and took the lead. The A75MA-G55 was able to pull an average of 66.43 frames per second while the ASUS F1A75-M Pro averaged 65.23 frames per second, a difference of 1.8%.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat was able to maintain a playable framerate at both resolutions with the image quality turned down. At both resolutions the MSI A75MA-G55 was able edge out the ASUS F1A75-M Pro, though the margins were small. At 1280x1024 the MSI A75MA-G55 averaged 40.5 frames per second while the ASUS averaged 40.2 frames per second, a difference of .75%. At 1920x1080 we saw a slightly larger margin of 1.6% with the MSI A75MA-G55 averaging 31.2 frames per second and the ASUS F1A75-M Pro averaging 30.7 frames per second.

In Aliens Vs. Predator the MSI A75MA-G55 and the ASUS F1A75-M Pro traded blows. The ASUS F1A75-M Pro came out on top during the 1280x1024 tests with an average of 26.1 frames per second versus the 25.8 frames per second on the MSI A75MA-G55. Cranking up the resolution to 1920x1080 the tables were turned and the MSI A75MA-G55 came out on top with an average of 18.2 frames per second while the ASUS F1A75-M Pro averaged 18 frames per second.

The MSI A75MA-G55 was able to once again edge out the ASUS F1A75-M Pro. The MSI A75MA-G55 was able to pull out an overall score in Futuremark 3DMark11 of 1804 while the ASUS F1A75-M Pro had an overall score of 1783.
