So now it's time to see how far we can push this card before it gives out on us. Using the Gigabyte Easy Boost utility I tried to push this card to the limit all while trying not to kill it because what good is a dead video card?
I also employed the use of the trusty Aliens Vs. Predator Benchmark because it is DX 11 capable and it can really push a video card. As you can see from the results I obtained I was able to overclock the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC Video Card to 915 MHz on the core, 1830 MHz on the shaders, and 1125 MHz on the GDDR5 memory. Without the ability to tweak the voltage we could not get a higher stable overclock, but hey, 85 MHz isn't all that bad.
I ran the Aliens vs. Predator Benchmark to see what the difference would be with the core overclocked to 915. As you can see, there was a slight 3 FPS difference from its stock setting of 830 MHz for a total of a 85 MHz overclock.
The results speak for themselves; we were able to get an extra 3 frames per second out of our game with just an 85 MHz overclock, which is not too bad if you ask me. I think if we had the ability to tweak the voltage on this card we could have gone far above this, but hey, any gain is a good gain in performance as far as I am concerned.
