Game Tests:

Unreal Tournament 2003 v2225

We used the DM-Asbestos Botmatch Benchmark customized to run at 1024x768 and 1280x1024 resolutions. We also ran each resolution with NoAA/NoAF and 4xAA/8xAF set by the driver.

From this graph, we see that the 5900XT has playable framerates in UT2003, and the 5900Xt also begins to show a performance advantage over the 9600XT at 4xAA/8xAF at 1280x1024.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein v1.41

For the RTCW test, we used a custom Checkpoint Demo. We tested RTCW at the same settings as UT2003.

Again, we see the AA and AF settings do not impact the 5900XT as much as they do on the 9600XT.

Halo v1.01

Halo, as one of the most graphic intensive games currently on the market, was only tested at 1024x768 with NoAA/NoAF.

Here you can see the 5900XT has playable framerates almost throughout the entire Halo time demo.

Call of Duty

Call of Duty is another pretty graphic intensive game. Due to this, instead of using 4xAA/8xAF, we lowered it to 2xAA/8xAF and the graph shows the results of 1024x768 at 2xAA/8xAF.

In Call of Duty, we see that the performance difference between the 5900XT and 9600XT is not as great as it is in other games. This OpenGL game performs about equal on either card, according to the FRAPS graph. The average FPS chart shows the 5900XT with a slight advantage.
