Sapphire Pure Black X58 AMD CrossFireX Scaling

On this page we are going to take a look at the scaling performance of the Sapphire Pure Black X58 in CrossfireX. When we decided to run this series of tests, we were able to get in touch with our friends over at XFX and they kindly sent over a pair of XFX Radeon HD 6950's.

The Sapphire Pure Black X58 motherboard found itself in the middle of the pack of our Intel P67 motherboards. At 1280x1024 the Sapphire Pure Black X58 motherboard saw a gain of 94.2% with a second XFX Radeon HD 6950, and a gain of 95.8% at 1920x1080.

Metro 2033 showed us little to no gain on the Sapphire Pure Black X58 motherboard. At a resolution of 1280x1024 the Sapphire Pure Black X58 only saw a gain of 6.3%, while 1920x1080 saw a slightly better gain of 14.2%.

In S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat we saw a whole lot better performance with the Sapphire Pure Black X58 than we did in Metro 2033, though the Intel Core I7 950 that we are using for our X58 test system isn't holding up to the Intel Core i5 2500K in terms of system performance. At the lower resolution of 1280x1024 the Sapphire Pure Black X58 motherboard saw a performance gain of 46.4%, and at 1920x1080 we saw a gain of 62.4%.
