SATA6 Performance Testing
HD Tach is a low level hardware benchmark for random access read/write storage devices such as hard drives, removable drives (ZIP/JAZZ), flash devices, and RAID arrays. HD Tach uses custom device drivers and other low level Windows interfaces to bypass as many layers of software as possible and get as close to the physical performance of the device possible.

The SATA6 Testing was done using Crucial RealSSD C300 256Gb SATA6 SSD drive.

Benchmark Results: The Sapphire Pure Black X58 motherboard is the only board in our charts that is using a third party SATA 6Gbps controller. All of our Intel P67 motherboards are tested using the SATA 6 controller integrated into the Intel 6 series chipsets. The average read for the Sapphire Pure Black X58 was a solid 288.17MB/s; it's a bit lower that the P67 motherboards that we have tested but overall not a bad showing. The average write speeds were lower than I would have liked to have seen at 173.17MB/s.
