Test Setup

Our test system was set up with a fresh install of Windows 7 64 Ultimate Edition with the latest Windows Updates. Video card drivers for the AMD Radeon HD 6950 were Catalyst 10.12.

The Intel DP67BG motherboard had BIOS BGP6710J.86A.1815 which is the latest from Intel.

The Kingston HyperX Genesis 2133MHz 2x2GB memory kit has an XMP of 2133MHz 9-11-9-27 1t and this was the XMP that was used for all 2133MHz testing regardless of CPU speed. The Core i7 2600K at 4.9GHz 1600MHz used 9-9-9-24 1t timings. The default speed Core i7 2600K used 1333MHz 9-9-9-24 1t timings.
