SiSoftware Sandra 2010

The Sisoft Sandra 2010 benchmark utility was released a few weeks ago and we have started to include it in our benchmarking. Sandra 2010 now comes with support for Virtualization (Virtual PC/Server, Hyper-V, VMware) and GPGPU (OpenCL, DirectX 11 Compute Shader/DirectCompute). Today we will be utilizing Sandra 2010 to look at memory bandwidth performance!

SiSoftware Sandra 2010

Benchmark Results: The increased speeds of the Intel Core I7 950 gave it an advantage over the earlier Intel Core I7 930 by ~1% on both tests. The I7 950 was 27%+ faster than the Intel Core I7 970 hex-core processor and more than double the memory bandwidth of any of the AMD Processors!

The Sandra Processor Multi-Media benchmark has been a long time favorite of ours to look at floating point performance on processors.

SiSoftware Sandra 2010c Multi-Media Processor Benchmark Results

Benchmark Results: The Intel Core I7 950 fell short of all the hex core processors like the AMD Phenom II X6 1055T in the Int x16 iSSE4.1 tests. In the Float x8 iSSE2 tests and the Double x4 iSSE2 tests the Intel Core I7 950 was able to make up some ground where it was able to surpass both the AMD Phenom II X6 1055T and the AMD Phenom II X6 1075T.
