Antec Soundscience Rockus 2.1 Speakers Packaging
I was lucky enough to have my speakers hand delivered by Veronica and Ryan from Antec, so shipping was not a factor. The speakers that they gave me were in a cardboard outer box that had a red "Soundscience" logo on it and a big yellow sticker that told me to remove the color retail box inside the cardboard box.
So, who am I to argue with the sticker? I pulled the retail box out and it was graphics heavy with a close up picture of the speaker set on the front of the box and some information regarding the speakers on the back of the box. One of the sides of the box contained all of the specifications of the speakers.
Once the retail box is opened you can see that the cords and cables for the speakers are sitting on top of the Styrofoam blocks that protect the speakers and the sub-woofer.
As we dig deeper we can see the plastic wrapped satellites resting between two form fitting pieces of foam. With the satellites pulled out we can now see the top of the sub-woofer also in between two pieces of form fitting foam and down below that is the control pod that controls the sound settings as well as the volume and mute functions.
Once all of the parts have been removed from the box we can see that they are all very well wrapped in plastic as another measure of protection against any damage during any type of handling. We can see that the system includes the two satellite speakers, the sub-woofer, the control pod, and all of the wiring needed to hook the system up.
One item that I did notice right away that was missing from this set up was an optical cable. If you are going to include an optical option, you should provide an optical cable so that all possible set up variations that are included in the system can be configured. No computer product would be complete without the usual user's manual which shows you how to setup and configure you new Soundscience Rockus Speakers.
