Test Setup

Our test system was set up with a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with all the latest updates. All benchmarks were completed with no background software running. We used the latest 10.9 Catalyst drivers for our Diamond HD5850. Audio, chipset, SATA, and network drivers were the latest from the EVGA Classified SR-2 support page. BIOS version is A49.
For game testing, our Diamond HD5850 was overclocked to 950MHz core and 1175MHz memory. This should give us the same or slightly higher performance than an HD5870.
The memory in our system is from Crucial and was set to 9-9-9-24-1t. 6 sticks of 2GB of memory (12GB total for the mathematically challenged) need to operate at slightly slower timings but was still operating at 1333MHz. For the overclocked timings we went with what the SR-2 deemed appropriate. As you'll see in the performance results, CAS 11 can still get the job done!
