USB3 Performance Testing
HD Tach is a low level hardware benchmark for random access read/write storage devices such as hard drives, removable drives (ZIP/JAZZ), flash devices, and RAID arrays. HD Tach uses custom device drivers and other low level Windows interfaces to bypass as many layers of software as possible and get as close to the physical performance of the device possible.
Testing of the USB3 was done using the SUNBEAMTECH Airbox USB3.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure. The hard drive used was a Western Digital 640Gb Black Edition Hard drive.
Benchmark Results: The ASRock 890FX Deluxe4 had average read rates only .4MB/s behind the 94.5MB/s that seems to be the peak of the setup that we use for testing. The average write rates of the ASRock 890FX Deluxe4 sat at 90.8MB/s, which is just over 3MB/s slower than the fastest we have seen. The ASRock 890GX Extreme4 had an average read rate of 91.2MB/s and an average write of 83.6MB/s which is somewhat slower than I would have liked to have seen.
HD Tune Pro 4.01 is an extended version of HD Tune which includes many new features such as write benchmark, secure erasing, AAM setting, folder usage view, disk monitor, command line parameters and file benchmark.

Benchmark Results: HD Tune shows us very similar results to HD Tach. The ASRock 890FX Deluxe4 has average read and write rates that are very near to the top of the charts while the ASRock 890GX Extreme4 falls behind.
