Just Cause 2

Just Cause 2

Just Cause 2 is a sandbox style action video game currently under development by Swedish developer Avalanche Studios and Eidos Interactive, published by Square Enix. It is the sequel to the 2006 video game, Just Cause.

Just Cause 2 Game Settings

Just Cause 2 employs a new version of the Avalanche Engine, Avalanche Engine 2.0, which is an updated version of the engine used in Just Cause.  The game will be set on the other side of the world, compared to Just Cause, which is on the fictional tropical island of Panau in Southeast Asia. Rico Rodriguez will return as the protagonist, aiming to overthrow the evil dictator Pandak "Baby" Panay and confront his former boss, Tom Sheldon.

Just Cause 2 Benchmark Results

Benchmark Results: In the previous games all of the GeForce GTS 450's were hovering at the same performance as the Sapphire Radeon HD 5770. That is far from the case in Just Cause 2. The ASUS ENGTS450 DirectCU TOP was ~29% behind the Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 while our other GeForce GTS 450's fell behind the ASUS ENGTS450. The Margin between the ASUS ENGTS450 DirectCU TOP and the EVGA GeForce GTS 450 FTW was a negligible .4% at 1280x1024 and non-existent at 1920x1200. The MSI N450GTX 1GD5 was 9.25% behind the ASUS ENGTS450 DirectCU TOP at 1280x1024 and 8.6% behind at 1920x1200. The reference NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 was 16% slower at lower resolutions and nearly 27% behind the ASUS ENGTS450 DirectCU TOP at 1920x1200. At the lower resolution of 1280x1024 the SLI scaling wasn't as impressive as we have previously seen; we saw an improvement of 63.6%. Once we cranked the resolution up to 1920x1200 our scaling in Just Cause 2 improved by ~17% as we saw an 80% gain over a single reference NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450!
