Final Thoughts
Even with the mishap with the standoff I like the aquagraFX water block from Aqua Computer. The block is very nice looking and is very easy to install. The instructions are some of the nicest looking instructions I have seen in a long while.
In my testing I put it up against the water block from Danger Den, and they were neck and neck through all the testing up to the extreme overclock on the card. Even then there were only a few degrees between the two. The gap could grow when stacking the blocks in SLI due to build up of restriction. Even if temps climbed another 3 or 4 degrees the card would still be operating 30 degrees cooler than stock cooling, not to mention quieter.
I was upset with myself when the standoff broke, but even with that mishap I am pleased with the block's performance. I also like how light it is, that is a lot of weight hanging on the card and bouncing around when the system is being moved or transported, so the lighter the better.
Currently Aqua Computer does not have a US distributor, but for our readers across the pond the aqugraFX is a local option for those who don't want to or cannot import a Danger Den block. The aqugraFX block can be purchased strait from Aqua Computers store for 89.90EUR plus shipping ($116) for the copper version and 99.99EUR plus shipping ($129) for the nickel plated version.
Legit Bottom Line: The aquagraFX water block for the GTX480 from Aqua Computer performs nicely and looks sharp.
