Here on the front, it’s nothing crazy exciting which is not a bad thing. In fact, I really dig how SilverStone kept it simple on the front. Four 5.25” drive bays and two 2.5 inch bays are really all that are needed here. Then there is front vent for the fan intake.

On the back, the first things we see are the seven expansion slots with the tool-less mechanism to hold everything in place. I'm kind of reserved on how well it works but it seems solid at this point in the review. One thing to note about the expansion slots is that only the top and bottom expansion slot covers are reusable, which means once the 5 covers in between are removed, that's final. No way to reuse them. I kind of think that is a weird thing to do. Of course if you're like me, you're probably going to fill up each slot anyway, but I still question that move. Above that are the water inlet and outlet holes for you water coolers out there. Last but not least, on the bottom we have the power supply mount area.

As you can see on the left and right side panels, nothing spectacular. Great for those who are not into showing off their hardware. I would have liked to have seen a vent or two but I don't think it will impact airflow very much at all.

On top we have the vent for the fans, then we have the front panel with the Power and Reset buttons accompanied by two USB 2.0 ports, an audio port and the microphone port.

The top vent is removable to allow two 120mm fans to be installed. The vent also has a dust filter on it and is very easy to clean. What is nice is that the 120mm fans do not have to be screwed into place, though it appears one can be mounted in such a way. Kind of a bummer they didn't include a top fan, but for $50 that's something that can be done without for now.

With the front panel removed you can see the dust filter for the front 120mm intake fan. Please note that the SilverStone PS05 does NOT include a front fan either. The fan pictured is one I included to give an idea of how the fan will slide into the area with the bracket installed. Pretty slick, in my opinion. Other than that, there's not much to report on this area.

On the bottom we have the rubber feet along with a power supply vent and another vent that another 120mm fan be installed. However, installing a 120mm here will depend on how big/long your power supply is. Let's crack this case open to find out more.
