Final Thoughts and Conclusions

The PNY GeForce GTX 465 XLR8 video card was quick and easy to use as it included everything you needed to install it and use it right when you get home, unlike the Galaxy GTX 465 that we last reviewed that didn't include any Mini HDMI adapter cable or the 6-pin PCIe to 4-pin Molex power adapter. It would have been nice to have a game included rather than a couple of free movie downloads or a free subscription to ESEA. When it comes to the free movies the selection offered really isn't that bad as they have 35 titles to pick from. None of the titles are very new, but it is the thought that counts right?
When it comes to pricing the PNY GeForce GTX 465 XLR8 video card can be picked up for $272.25 shipped on PriceGrabber. This is price competitive with other brands on the market for the most part, but you can find some Zotac GeForce GTX 465 cards for just $249.99 right now thanks to summer promotions. This is far less expensive than the GeForce GTX 470 at $309.99 and will mean that the GF100 series is more affordable to the masses. It is also priced between the $196 ATI Radeon HD 5830 and the $289 ATI Radeon HD 5850, which might cause an issue for many of our readers. Which card should you get? If you run F@H, tessellation heavy applications/games or 3D Vision then the GeForce GTX 400 series is very good. If you want solid game performance, lower operating temperatures and the ability to run three displays off one graphics card with ATI Eyefinity then the Radeon HD 5000 series offerings might be right for you. It is a choice that you as a consumer have to make up based off your usage scenario and future plans.
The one thing that makes PNY stand out from some of the other brands is their warranty. PNY Technologies offers a limited lifetime warranty on the GeForce GTX 465 video card. The catch is that you must register the card within 90 days of purchase to get the full lifetime warranty. If you don't register your card within 90 days from the date of purchase then you only get a one year warranty from the date of purchase. Just for fun we called PNY warranty support at 1-888-316-1193 and were able to get on the phone with a real tech support person in less than two minutes. We asked about the warranty and were able to confirm the lifetime warranty, but when you register the card you get a confirmation number that is needed in order to use the lifetime warranty. The 90 days to register the card is also nice as other companies like EVGA give you just 30 days.
Legit Bottom Line: The PNY GeForce GTX 465 XLR8 video card performed great on the latest drivers and performed better than the Radeon HD 5830 in many of the benchmarks we ran!
