Retail Box and Bundle

The front of the AXLE retail box features many similarities to that of the GeForce GT 240, using the same graphic, just a little cropped. The box also shows the "CHILLED BY ARCTIC COOLING" logo as well as the "Solid State Capacitors" badge advertising >500,000hr life expectancy.

The rear of the retail box shows that this retail box is used for several different cards, in-fact the HD 5670 isn't specifically advertised aside from the sticker on the front of the box. There is a chart which details some specifications of the HD 5750 through HD 5970 models and a feature section on Eyefinity which this card does not support as it has a VGA output in the place of a Displayport. Good thing the front of the box has in fine print, "Product outlook and specifications may differ from this box without prior notice."

The install CD is very simple with just the drivers for each operating system shown above, Catalyst version 10.3 (March 2010) are included, but of course v10.6 will be installed from the AMD website.

For fun, I decided to launch the installation to see if any random game or application was included in this specific driver kit. To my delight there was no Lord of the Rings FREE Trial to uncheck, but AVIVO and HydraVision software are included which do not come in normal driver downloads.

Upon opening the box you see the cool little foldout thin cardboard manual on top of a "special notes on VGA card installation" card in yellow resting atop the card itself.

The AXLE HD 5670 card is not exactly snug in the box, but in this current form it can fit any card from this one on up to 10.5" long cards which will be very snug.
The retail bundle for the AXLE HD 5670 comes with a hardware and software installation guide in the unique foldout manual as well as the yellow card which suggests things like "Pay attention to abnormal noise from the fan" and "ensure fan rotates freely after card installation" among other things. also included is one molex-PCIe power converter as well as the Installation disc shown below.
