Stress Testing Their Hardware
ECS also had a number of rooms setup with fully configured platforms being stress tested 24/7 to ensure they are fully stable. This room had 'normal' air temperature and had racks of PCs along all of the walls. With close to 50 platforms being tested in here it was rather impressive and put our test lab to shame.
Remember the ECS Vase PC that we showed you at CES 2010? We bumped into it again in Taiwan and found out that while it has never gone into production they did make 100 of them and the concept is still alive and well with design engineers.
Here is a close up shot of an ECS P55H-AK motherboard being stress tested with mix and matched memory occupying all the memory banks.
ECS also had a separate room setup for high-temperature testing and it had several systems in it on the other side of the room, but I wanted a shot of a system with one of the heaters that were in the room.
ECS had this room set to a constant 40C (104F) and this helps make sure platforms are stable even at higher temperatures than most systems would encounter in a typical consumer setting.
