Finally Past Security!
We were told that this rather new building featured modern technology and stepping into the elevator we found that it did as it had televisions broadcasting weather, company news and even company product features. We also got a laugh that the elevator could hold 21 people as it really wasn't that large.
We started off our tour taking a look at where the graphics artists for retail packaging and logos are at.
We then wandered over to the motherboard testing and overclocking area and ran past this massive 50L Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) container. ECS isn't known for having the best overclocking boards on the enthusiast market, but they have been honestly trying to get their Black Series of motherboards up on par with the other brands.
We happened to see one engineer working on improving the overclocking performance of their upcoming Intel P55 motherboard called the ECS P55H-AK.
He wouldn't share what exactly he was doing, but he told us that the board was an early revision board that came right off the assembly line at the ECS Shenzhen factory and to Taiwan for additional overclocking testing. All other testing is handled in Shenzhen, so what is being done at the HQ here in Taiwan is just minor adjustments.
Their choice of memory was rather interesting though as we can't say we've ever reviewed any Hooker branded DDR3 memory kits!
Here is a closer look at their upcoming Intel P67 motherboard called the P67H2-A2 that we spotted tested on one of their engineers test benches. It looked a little different than the P67H2-A2 board that they were showing off at Computex, but the main difference was the missing heat sink over the CPU power phases.
