HD Tach v3.0.4.0 & CrystalDiskMark v3.0
HD TACH 3.0.4.0
HD Tach is a low level hardware benchmark for random access read/write storage devices such as hard drives, removable drives (ZIP/JAZZ), flash devices, and RAID arrays. HD Tach uses custom device drivers and other low level Windows interfaces to bypass as many layers of software as possible and get as close to the physical performance of the device as possible.
Benchmark Results: Again the S596 writes seem to lag behind specs but the other JMicron drives suffer the same fate on this benchmark. The burst rate was very good however.
CrystalDiskMark 3.0d
CrystalDiskMark is a small benchmark utility for drives and enables rapid measurement of sequential and random read/write speeds.
Benchmark Results: The S596 does very well here and competes very well with the other, drives regardless of controller, on the sequential read and writes. The 4k tests aren't the forte of this controller but the ADATA does exceptionally well as compared to the other JMicron drives.
On to the last set of benchmarks.
