Power Consumption Testing
To test the power consumption, the test bench was plugged into a P3 Kill-A-Watt. Idle power consumption was taken 15 minutes after logging into Windows 7 with no other programs running. The load tests were done running FurMark 1.80 with a resolution of 1280x1024. This was more than enough to bring the load on the GPU's to 100%.
Benchmark Results: Idle power consumption is right on par with all of the other high performance graphics cards. There was nearly 60 Watts difference between the XFX Radeon HD 5830 and the Radeon HD 5870.
