3DMark Vantage

3DMark Vantage

3DMark Vantage is the new industry standard PC gaming performance benchmark from Futuremark, newly designed for Windows Vista and DirectX10. It includes two new graphics tests, two new CPU tests, several new feature tests, and support for the latest hardware. 3DMark Vantage is based on a completely new rendering engine, developed specifically to take full advantage of DirectX10, the new graphics API from Microsoft.

The Extreme settings were used for testing, so a resolution of 1920x1200 was used.

Here we have included our overclocking performance numbers along with our standard clocks. At 1000MHz GPU and 1200MHz for the memory, the ASUS EAH5850 TOP is clearly kicking some ass! At shipping speeds, the ASUS card maintains its 6% performance advantage. When overclocked, it is nearly 26% faster than a reference Radeon HD 5850!

Our overall scores show a little more muted gain for the ASUS EAH5850 TOP since the CPU score is figured into the mix here. Out of the box, it does still come out over 5% ahead of the stock clocked Radeon HD 5850, and 25% when overclocked.
