Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H BIOS
Let's take a look at the BIOS of the Gigabyte 890GPA-US3H and see what we have to work with!
The MB Intelligent Tweaker sub-menu is where all the overclocking and voltage features of the motherboard are located.
For example, you can increase the CPU voltage +0.600V higher than spec in order to reach a higher overall clock frequency. You have the ability to adjust the CPU voltage in 0.025V increments.
The DDR3 memory clock speeds can be adjusted to 800, 1066, 1333 and 1600MHz with the standard multiplier options shown above. If you want to run faster than 1600MHz you'll have to overclock the CPU in order to reach the number you want to reach. The good news is that Gigabyte claims the board can easily go beyond 1866MHz on the memory when overclocked.
The Advanced BIOS Menu is where you go to disable the full screen logo that pops up when your system posts and it is also where you need to be to adjust the boot device order. Let's dive a little deeper into this menu and see what the IGX Configuration will allow us to mess with.
Under the IGX menu you can tinker around with the integrated graphics, which in this case is the Radeon HD 4290 GPU. You can adjust the UMA Frame Buffer, enable Surround View, change the video output device and even overclock the GPU from right here in the BIOS.
The Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H motherboard BIOS even allows you to overclock or even underclock the SidePort memory clock, which is an interesting feature.
The ever important PC Health sub-menu. This is the section you need to glance at in order to make sure your temperatures and voltages are okay when you fire up a brand new system.
Here is the Standard CMOS Features screen that shows the available IDE channels and of course the floppy drive.
