Overclocking and AoD 3.1
AMD Overdrive 3.1 also came out today so we figured we'd give it a try and see what kind of overclocks we could get from our AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE C3 stepping processor on the Gigabyte 890GX motherboard.
AMD’s Black Edition Memory Profile (BEMP) feature is now properly implemented the 890GX motherboards. Two things are needed, a new revision of AMD Overdrive and a new BIOS. The new revision of AMD Overdrive 3.1 (version 376) can be seen above on our Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H motherboard.
After a little time in the BIOS and exploring AMD Overdrive 3.1 we managed to hit 4.2GHz on the Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H motherboard and called it a success for a $139 motherboard!
