SiSoftware Sandra 2010
SiSoftware Sandra (the System ANalyser, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant) is an information & diagnostic utility. Sandra provides most of the information (including undocumented) you need to know about your hardware, software and other devices whether hardware or software. In order to test the hard drive, SiSoftware Sandra 2010c was used as part of the test suite. The graphical results that Sandra gives you after the test is completed nicely shows how drives perform over time and where on the drive the performance is seen.

WRITE Performance Testing:
Benchmark Results: The WD SiliconEdge Blue 256GB SSD scored how we think a mainstream SSD should in Sandra 2010 when it comes to read performance as it flew through the benchmark at 238MB/s. The write scores suffered from the same performance drop off towards the end of the benchmark and was found to have an average write score of 76MB/s.
Comparison Chart: The WD SiliconEdge Blue 256GB SSD had the slowest average write time of the group, but the read speeds were not too far off. The random access times for read and write were what look to be average according to Sandra.
