HD Tune v4.01
HD Tune Pro 4.01 is an extended version of HD Tune which includes many new features such as write benchmark, secure erasing, AAM setting, folder usage view, disk monitor, command line parameters and file benchmark.
Benchmark Results: The Toshiba HG2 256GB SSD had solid performance numbers in HD Tune Pro 4.01 on both the read test and the write tests. The average read speed was found to be 210MB/s with an average write speed of 171MB/s. The read test had an access time of 0.1ms, while the write test had an access time of 0.3ms.
Comparison Chart: When comparing the Toshiba HG2 256GB SSD to the competition, it had an average read speed just behind the OCZ Vertex 2 Pro and Vertex LE 100GB SSDs. The average write speed was 171MB/s, which was enough to out-perform the Intel X250M Gen 2 160GB SSD. The burst rate of 212MB/s was also ahead of the Intel mainstream SSD, but behind the other drives we tested it against.
64MB File Test
Benchmark Results: Running the built-in file benchmark test in HD Tune 4.01 showed once again just how the drive performs with various file sizes. This test shows the Toshiba HG2 256GB SSD topping out at nearly 225MB/sec in the read test and 155MB/sec in the write test.
