Radeon HD 5570 Overclocking

To overclock the Sapphire Radeon HD 5570 1GB graphics card, we used the ATI Overdrive utility that is part of the CATALYST Control Center. When you 'unlock' the ATI Overdrive, you can manually set the clock and memory settings or let the 'auto-tune' utility set the frequencies for you.

To save on time we skipped the auto-tune feature and just maxed out the sliders and took the card the highest that it could go. We also cranked up the fan to 100% just for fun and to make sure the GPU was as cool as it could possibly get. We started out at the default settings of 650MHz on the core and 900MHz on the memory, but were able to reach 700MHz on the core and 950MHz on the GDDR3 memory. This is a 50MHz overclock on the core and a 50MHz boost on the Samsung GDDR3 memory ICs.
To test out the overclock we fired up 3DMark Vantage and manually
set the fans at 100% just to be sure heat wasn't an issue when
benchmarking at this overclock.
