SG05: Final Thoughts!

The SilverStone SG05 Mini-ITX/DTX computer case is one designed for minimal space and maximum flexibility. Unlike other small-form factor cases, the SG05 attempts to provide users with options by supporting large video cards, larger heat sink fans, and an 80-plus 300 watt PSU. The large 120mm fan provides ample cooling while the included IDE-adapter and bezel replacement part serve as excellent examples of SilverStone's well-thought out design and dedication to pleasing owners.
As the case does not offer any extra features beyond the unique design, the case may not appeal to users wanting a Home Theatre PC, nor is it meant to be the smallest case on the market. Instead, the SG05 aims to be a great desktop replacement useful for grandmas and gamers alike. While it's not pictured, SilverStone even sells a custom bag to carry the SG05 to LAN parties or wherever else one would want to take a computer. Nonetheless, at approximately $99.99 plus $9.99 for shipping, the SG05 strikes me as slightly on the pricey end. The good news is that there is a $30 rebate right now for the black version of this case, which drops the price down to $69.99 plus shipping. For $69.99 you get the SilverStone Sugo SG05 with an 80-plus certified 300W power supply, both of which are covered by a one year warranty. That is a very fair price and should be on the short list of mini-ITX chassis that you are considering.
Legit Bottom Line: Combined with a sleek design and quiet 120mm fan, the SilverStone SG05 stands as a great option for a desktop with a small footprint without limiting the computer's capabilities. While a touch on the expensive side without a sale or rebate, the quality of the case and power supply helps it stand above others in the market, and even a small discount would easily make this an excellent buy.
