Test System

Since this isn't a hardware performance review I used a beat up Windows 7 Professional x86 install with my X58 testbed. The Xeon w3570 was used with vcore varying between 1.55v and 1.64v depending on the benchmark and frequencies between 5100MHz and 5300MHz. A temperature probe was attached to the CPU IHS to measure the CPU temps and another probe attached to the pot base so we could measure the delta between the two and evaluate how well the pot performs. The UEI thermometer had the probe for the IHS and the Fluke thermometer had the probe for the pot. It should be noted that the UEI is reading a few degrees colder than reality. This discrepancy isn't tragic, figure it is reading ~4 degrees colder than actual temps at -80C.
