Overclocking Part 2

DDR3-1896 CAS4?! In all honesty while waiting for Super Pi 32M to complete the computer and I took a nap, turns out when Windows puts itself to sleep CPU-Z reads the CAS timing wrong every time. This is really 7-10-7-24, which is impressive in its own right. Loosening up tRCD is an easy way to gain memory MHz though, just take a look at the number of 7-8-7 and 8-9-8 memory kits on the market.

Now dropping to CAS8 really let the kit stretch its little legs. DDR3-2040 is a hefty 27.5% overclock at what I'd consider to be pretty decent timings for a $110 kit of memory. With more time manually playing with sub-timings and vdimm/vtt combinations I believe DDR3-2100 would be possible through at least Super Pi 32M.
