Final Thoughts on the Tritton AX 180

The Tritton AX 180 headset has excellent sound reproduction considering that they’re analog stereo. The microphone is easy to adjust and works great. It is also easy to remove if you don’t need it for a while. The headphones feel sturdy and are light and comfortable. While their audio performance doesn’t keep up with their big brother the Tritton AX720, that is compensated by their lower price ($69 at Best Buy) and their solid performance.

In comparison to other analog stereo headsets that I’ve tried, like the Turtle Beach Earforce P-21, the AX 180’s have much superior sound quality both on the console and PC. As we mentioned in our AX 720 review, the AX 180’s lack the Chat Boost and Microphone Monitoring of the P-21. Those features of the P-21 may make it a slightly better choice for network game communication.
Legit Bottom Line: At the $69 price point, the Tritton AX 180 offers excellent analog stereo sound reproduction with a slick adjustable boom mic and independent game and chat features. This headset is truly universal, and will work with any PC, Mac, or console that you can throw at it.
