RAID0 4kb Results
The first observation I made when looking at the 4kb RAID0 SSD results was how impressive ICH10R appears. The sequential read and write IOPs blew the other controllers out of the water. The second observation was the beating the LSI 9260-8i took in the random reads and writes. Sequential reads/writes were on par with the other RAID controllers but the random small file read/write performance was horrible.
With proper SAS drives the LSI 9260-8i goes toe to toe with the Adaptec 5805 with the LSI 9260-8i taking a nice lead over the Adaptec 5805 in sequential reads/writes and a slight loss in random reads/writes. Thankfully, the random read/write performance wasn't so bad; perhaps future firmware updates can fix it.
