Left 4 Dead 2

Sequel to Valve Corporation's award-winning Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2 involves the aftermath of an apocalyptic pandemic. There has been an outbreak of a pathogen that causes infected humans to behave like zombies. The four survivors have to fight their way through the hordes of infected, using safehouses along the way to rest and recover in order to reach extraction points. This takes place in the southern United States, featuring Savannah, GA and New Orleans, LA.

For both resolutions, 4xMSAA and 4xAF were used with high settings, on the "Hard Rain" first map. As everyone who has played a Valve game knows, Multicore Rendering can have...unexpected results, so it was left off for all testing.

In L4D2, we have the 9600 GSO on top yet again, with ~8% better rates at both resolutions, with the AXLE GT 240 running almost exactly the same as the HD 4670. It is very playable all around at both resolutions and I'm happy with the graphics quality and optimization over the original game, which had the 9600 GSO's rates spike downward from 60 and lock up for up to 10 seconds at a time with high settings.
