3DMark Vantage

3DMark Vantage

3DMark Vantage is the new industry standard PC gaming performance benchmark from Futuremark, newly designed for Windows Vista and DirectX10. It includes two new graphics tests, two new CPU tests, several new feature tests, and support for the latest hardware. 3DMark Vantage is based on a completely new rendering engine, developed specifically to take full advantage of DirectX10, the new graphics API from Microsoft.

Benchmark Results: The degree to which 3DMark performance accurately models real-world comparisons has been debated ever since 3DMark99; it's not an issue we'll settle here. 3DMark Vantage works well across either manufacturer's product line, particularly in "Extreme" mode, but the 27 percent performance delta between the Sparkle GeForce GTX 275 and the ATI Radeon 4890 in "High" mode is significantly larger than anything we saw in real world tests.
