Final Thoughts & Conclusion
If you're in the market for a new video card and wondering if Sparkle is a brand you can trust, I'd say the answer is yes. The company's card and bundle doesn't include any goodies or extras to wow or surprise, but the actual product is as stable a video card as one could ask for, and that's what ultimately matters.
As for the Geforce GTX 275, it's a solid design that's generally a bit faster than its closest competitor, the ATI Radeon HD 4890. The GeForce GTX 275 is also a bit more expensive than its closest ATI competitor, so the price/performance ratio between the two is more-or-less consistent. Power consumption and thermals, on the other hand, generally favor the Radeon HD 4890; if you're looking for performance-per-watt, ATI is probably your best bet.
If I were personally in the market for a new card at the moment, I'd probably be eyeing the GeForce GTX 275, and based on my experience with the company, I'd be willing to buy a Sparkle as opposed to a brand I'm more familiar with. For a company that's still attempting to establish itself as a well-known presence on this side of the Pacific, Sparkle's made a good start.
When it comes to pricing, the Sparkle GeForce GTX 275 video card with 896MB of memory can be had for $214.99 shipped at Tiger Direct. This makes it one of the better priced GeForce GTX 275 cards on the market today. The Sparkle GeForce GTX 275 video card's direct competition is the ATI Radeon HD 4890 and those retail for $197.99 shipped. It's a tough choice to make, but with slightly better performance and features like PhysX and CUDA in general the GeForce GTX 275 will be the right choice for many of our readers.
Legit Bottom Line: The Sparkle GeForce GTX 275 video card has proven to be faster than the ATI Radeon HD 4890 and costs just a little more.
