April Xbox One Update Out Now

By

Xbox One owners should be on the lookout for the April update that began rolling out yesterday. The update brings with it a bunch of new features that gamers will appreciate and will land for gamers around the world in the next few days. New video features are one of the highlights with an auto Low-Latency Mode that notifies your TV when you are playing a game. TVs with a game mode can automatically change to that mode.

The update also supports variable refresh rate output for AMD Radeon FreeSync and FreeSync 2 compatible displays. With FreeSync 2 displays the Xbox One and Xbox One X will support HDR. Support for 1440p is included in this update. That resolution is 2560 x 1440. Giving more than HD, but less than 4K.

The update also brings with the “Share Controller” toggle in the Broadcast & Capture section allowing the sharing of their controller via a virtual controller window in the web browser or via a physical controller connected to a PC. A bunch of personalization options are offered in the update along with new Audio and ease of Access features.

The Dashboard has been updated and tweaks to spatial sound support have been made to allow action on screen to better sync with your surround sound system. Clubs, Game Hubs, and tournaments have been tweaked as well. The full list of changes can be seen here.
