AMD Ryzen Price Drop Already Happening At Micro Center

Micro Center has slashed the price tag on the one week old AMD Ryzen 7 1700X processor from $399.99 down to $349.99 when you go to the store locally to purchase one! That $50 price cut represents a 12.5% price slash. This news is interesting as just a week ago all the news headlines were that Intel may cut prices in response to AMD’s Ryzen 7 1800X, 1700X and 1700 processors and now we see retailers like Micro Center trimming $50 off the price of the Ryzen 7 1700X. It should be noted that the AMD Ryzen 7 1700 and 1800X have not had any price adjustments. Changes are Micro Center got a good deal buying so many Ryzen 7 processor and good a pretty good discount and is looking for a way to get customers to come into the store to purchase one of these processors.

The bad news is that the Micro Center location in St. Louis/Brentwood, Missouri is denying that this promotion exists and says that the Ryzen 7 1700X is priced at $399.99 and not $349.99 according to the system. Legit Reviews called the St. Louis store and spoke and the representative at our local Micro Center said that interested customers should print out the Micro Center e-mail showing the $349.99 price and as to speak to the store manager and it will be handled on a per customer basis. We asked to speak with a manager on the phone about the pricing situation and we were told that we would have to come into the store to do that. We explained that would be nearly a 2-hour round trip drive and they explained that was the store policy and we’d have to come in.

So, you might be able to get a 1700X at Micro Center for $349.99 + local tax ($33.67 locally at 9.62%) for a grand total of around $383.66. That makes it about $16 cheaper than Newegg or Amazon that might not be charging any sales tax in your state. Good luck!

Update 3/8/2017 3:30pm CST: We talked to the Marketing Communications Manager at Micro Center and was told the following: “All customers through Friday (3/10/2017) can obtain coupons at all Micro Center stores which lowers the price on the 1700X to $349.99.”
