Amazon May Release New Amazon Echo Device to Make Phone Calls Work As Intercoms

Amazon may add a new feature to home phone calls. A new Amazon Echo is in the works and could possibly bring intercom support. Amazon is working on releasing a new Alexa operated device with phone call intercom features. Recode states that an announcement from amazon is coming soon.

As far as how many new Echo devices Amazon will release is still uncertain. The upcoming rumored devices will allow users to begin voice calls through Alexa. The intercom function will allow users to communicate with each other through the Alexa devices.

Recode stated the new Alexa intercom devices which would add on to the Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Tap were set as a beta test inside of Amazon in February. The ability to call with Echo offers proficient functionality along with the other thousands of abilities Alexa is currently available to.

Furthermore, the Wall Street Journal reported that Amazon and Google are collaborating to include voice calling to the Amazon Echo and Google Homer smart speakers.

Amazons Echo and Echo Dot are becoming increasingly more popular to consumers in the U.S. over the last year and is available for purchase here. An inclusion of an intercom increase reason for consumers to incorporate the products more on a daily basis.
