“Alive” Overwatch Animated Short Released by Blizzard Entertainment

Blizzard Entertainment has released its second animated short film “Alive,” part of a series of media that will include comics and a graphic novel that set the lore for the upcoming game Overwatch. “Alive” is a 6-minute cinematic feature that features two characters from the game – Widowmaker an elite assassin from the Talon terrorist organization and Tracer a former Overwatch agent with time-bending abilities. Overwatch is a competitive cooperative shooter that puts two teams of five players working towards a match objective. Each player chooses a hero character that wields a unique weapon and has unique abilities, in ways often compared to another game Team Fortress 2. Overwatch is Blizzard Entertainment’s first new IP in 17 years since StarCraft in 1998 and their first shooter game.

Overwatch launches on May 24 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One for $59.96 (Amazon.) Anyone can try out Overwatch for free from May 5-9 before the game launches during which Blizzard is running an all-access open beta.Overwatch
